grip size, club length, loft and lie, swingweight and clubhead speed.

• The measuring of clubhead speed and shaft flex.
• The importance of matching shaft flex to clubhead speed.
• Shaft types/technology/bend points.
• Shaft and loft selection for distance and/or accuracy. Driver loft for maximum
distance.
• Symptoms resulting from playing with the wrong shaft.
• Set make-up – i.e. the selection of clubs (and type of club) which will allow the
client to play to his/her strengths.
• Use of fitting forms and measuring devices including fitting and assessing your
own clubs.
• Putter fitting - the importance of head type, correct length, lie and loft.
CLUB REPAIR, ALTERATION & ASSEMBLY (Day 2)
• Assembly – club assembly methodology and demonstration. Explanations of
shaft tip and butt trimming, tip preparation, achieving desired swingweight.
Detection of shaft “spines” and correct location of spine(s) in clubhead.
• Repairs - demonstrations of re-gripping, re-shafting (graphite and steel shafts)
including thru-bores, oversize heads and special hosels - shaft extending and
shortening -altering lofts/lies - refurbishing metal wood heads and irons –
swingweight changes – shaft matching using a shaft frequency analyser.
• Tools and equipment - needed with information on use and sources of supply
• Demonstration & trial clubs - purpose and application as a sales aid. Numbers
of clubs required.
• Workshop - how to set up your own. Minimum equipment needed.
